Selection of inspiration and research boards for the print design collection Curious Creatures.

Curious Creatures is inspired by the enchanted mystique and wonder of seventeenth century cabinets of curiosities and the passion of natural history collectors. The hand drawn collection of interior surface pattern designs responds to the tradition of accumulating natural specimens through expedition, trade and discovery.

Digital colour separation and colour way tests produced prior to screen printing final designs.

Large hand drawn compositions of species from natural history collections. These drawings were the basis of repeat print designs for the Curious Creatures collection.

Digitally prepared design for exposing onto screen.

4 layer repeat screen print from the Curious Creatures collection.

Expressive painting and pastel work is used to produce designs for the print trend project Secluded Landscapes created in collaboration with trend agency Colour Hive.

Secluded Landscapes is created as a response to the Colour Hive Spring Summer 2019 trend 'Hush'. The focus of the trend is slow living and escaping the digital world. Inspiration for this project came from barren landscapes in the South of France. The colour palette of Secluded Landscapes is restricted to mostly neural tones with the exception of sparingly used brighter highlights of peach and cornflower blue.

Illustrating flora and foliage. The outcome of this project was a series of A3 art prints of heritage plants. Flora illustrated in this project range from blooming roses to petite bluebells. Inspiration for this came from the vast series of paintings by prolific Victorian biologist and botanical artist, Marianne North.

The colour highlights from the paintings include majestic yellow ochre, warming peachy pinks and crisp woodland greens.

Independently produced botanical designs using pencil, Indian ink and coloured crayons.

Digitally produced print design concepts for the Scandinavian fashion brand Numph.

These conceptual pieces are inspired by wild misty weather on Scandinavian mountain ranges and the rugged natural landscape.

To portray the natural Scandinavian landscapes, original abstarct artwork was produced by painting onto crumpled and worn paper surfaces.

Alternative conceptual response to the jagged Scandinavian landscapes. This artwork is created by collaging textured papers.
