Liquefied Layers is an eclectic concoction of glossy medium and digital print combined with synthetic fibres and plastics. The collection is designed to reflect a fluid, liquid state. By layering synthetic fabrics and enchanting frayed surfaces, surreal and slightly distorted effects start to emerge. Inspiration for the colour palette was sourced from jungle canopies and exotic creatures . Colour highlights include: layers of Kombu Green, flashes of Lightning Bug and Venom Blue. This collection started with evocative photography of various liquid states and botanicals. These images led to experimentation with melting plastics and creating new synthetic materials. The photography also inspired line drawings which were digitally manipulated on Photoshop and printed on Sublimation and Pigment printers. The outcome of this project was a series of digitally printed fabric samples designed to the specification of WGSN's Spring Summer 2017 trend Physchotropical.
